BC's Wills, Estates and Succession Act (WESA) governs how estates are administered in this province, and navigating it without legal guidance can leave loved ones exposed to delays, disputes, and unnecessary costs.

Our estate planning practice covers the full range of planning documents: will preparation and review, Enduring Powers of Attorney to authorize someone to manage your financial affairs, and Representation Agreements that govern personal care decisions if you lose the capacity to make them yourself. We also advise on trust provisions for minor beneficiaries so that inheritances are protected until children reach an appropriate age, and on guardianship designations to ensure the care of your minor children is entrusted to the right people.

When a loved one passes, our office assists executors and administrators with the probate process — obtaining grants of probate or administration from the BC Supreme Court, transferring real property through the BC Land Title Office, managing estate accounting, and communicating with beneficiaries throughout the administration. We work to make a difficult time as straightforward as possible.
